The Second Formal Stage
The novitiate is the second formal stage which lasts for two years.
First Year — Spiritual/Canonical Year
The first year is the spiritual/canonical year which is spent strictly in the novitiate community. This period is dedicated to deepening one's spiritual life and understanding of religious consecration.
Second Year — Apostolic Experience
The second year is partly spent outside in other communities or parishes to experience the life and demands of the active apostolate while integrating:
- Prayer
- Apostolate
- Community living
The novice applies the knowledge and spiritual growth gained from the first year.
The Journey
During this stage, the novices journey with the Novice Mistress and her team to help draw the novice into a new adventure of love, seeking intimately to know Christ through solitude, prayer and discernment and prepare her for religious profession.
